Virtual Drivers Meeting
Know what you're looking for? Jump Ahead!
Most importantly, have fun and be safe! If you're a newer driver, please don't hesitate to talk to Drift Apocalypse staff for tips and further clarification on the rules below.
Respect Thunderhill
No speeding in the paddock.
No riding in the trunk of cars, beds of trucks, or otherwise riding on the outside of a vehicle.
Dogs must be on a leash.
No BBQ's please!
No drugs or alcohol.
Clean up after yourself - please don't leave behind trash.
Visit the Thunderhill Grill and Gift Shop to support the venue!
On Course Safety
Grid will be paced at the beginning of the day. Pay attention to the staff member sending cars and pay attention to the course - check for stopped vehicles and people before you take off.
Hold up your fingers to let the staff member runnning grid know how many cars will be tandeming (5 max). Don't jump into tandems without permission from the other driver(s).
Don't get out of your vehicle unless it's on fire!
If you're stopped and need help, reach out your window and tap the roof of your car. DA staff will hold the line and come assist you when it's safe to do so.
Keep your limbs inside the vehicle while driving.
Exit the course at a walking pace.
Please try to avoid dirt drops and hitting cones!
Respect the skidpad! This ties back into respecting Thunderhill (and saving yourself the fees that come with damaging the facility!)
If your tire pops, do not keep drifting. Drive off of the course slowly. Continuing to drift can cause your wheel to dig into the asphalt.
No standing burnouts! They dig into the asphalt and damage it fast.
Hitting walls, fire hydrants etc. may result in fees to move walls or replace damaged property.
Fluid leaks - If your vehicle is leaking, stop driving and let staff know. Please do not leave a trail of fluid all the way back to your pit! Bags of grease sweep are $20 each.
Your Safety
You must be wearing a helmet that is strapped snug to drive.
You must check in at the registration table and have a valid wristband to drive.
Your Car
If there is a fire anywhere, grab your fire extinguisher and run! We'll reimburse you for your fire extinguisher. The most important thing is to get the fire out as quickly as possible.
Tech your own vehicle before driving - check out our tech information.
Spectators and Passengers
As a driver, you are responsible for your guests and passengers.
If spectators are taking photos or video, they must stand behind a wall or at the top of the hill.
Spectators and passengers are welcome at Drift Apocalypse events - no fee!
